Smith Dental Care is looking for a highly motivated, team-player to join our team by supporting the growth and development of our current and future staff. We are a family-oriented practice and strive to maintain this philosophy in all matters. The position is full-time with benefits, hourly with a M-F 8:00-5:00pm schedule. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for distributing hiring assessments to prospective candidates during the recruitment process.
  • Handles the pre-employment process by conducting background checks and onboarding stage –issuing new hire paperwork, coordinating start dates, and setting up credentials and logins for new hires.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Assists in facilitating payroll alongside the payroll consultant.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Completes employment verification requests and conducts exit interviews.
  • Assists with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, and diversity initiatives.
  • Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
  • Assists with networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, social media, and employees.
  • Conducts surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies, compensation, and other labor negotiations; collects information and reports results to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Assists in planning and supporting company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss changes in retirement or benefits plans.
  • Assists in analyzing trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Assists in creating learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Salary: $13.15-29/hr
