General Manager

Smith Dental Care is hiring a General Manager at our Athens location. We are a dental practice with soon-to-be 6 clinical office locations total, open 7 days a week. Our General Managers have an expected schedule of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the office, including things like resolving patient issues, coordinating team schedules, & tracking inventory levels
  • Select, onboard, train, coach, & retain new team members
  • Guide office managers & employees by focusing on constant & never-ending improvement while creating a positive work environment
  • Participate in directing & coordinating all department activities to develop & implement long-term goals & objectives to meet business & profitability growth objectives
  • Review & manage key performance indicators including collections, closing rates, collection ratio, percentage to target, & pipeline metrics
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, manage directly & through others, the performance management & development of staff to ensure the retention, growth, succession planning, career-pathing & performance of employees
  • Empower & lead employees through clear objectives, open communication & compassion
  • Operate with the utmost standards of confidentiality in all facets of patient information, employee & HR matters
  • Serve as point of contact for office & collaborate with the different support departments (i.e. Accounting, HR, Operations, Client Care etc..) to ensure practice is running effectively
  • Continue to evaluate & improve processes to make office more efficient
  • Ensure training, HIPAA compliance, & documentation requirements are met, licenses are up to date & appropriate approvals are obtained
  • Be present in the office or other designated company work location on a full–time basis to effectively & consistently collaborate with team members, including team members across departments or specialties

Qualifications:

  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Dental experience preferred
  • Strong desire to learn
  • Strong leadership, communication & motivation skills as well as ability to supervise others
  • Knowledge of safety regulations & compliance including Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) & the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Efficient multi-tasking & organizational skills
  • Maturity, tact, integrity & respect for patient confidentiality
